The evening at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island brought together a luxury resort setting, large-scale scenic production, theatrical lighting and a Wicked-inspired creative direction. Travelers needed photo coverage that could move smoothly between room details, guest interactions and a headline performance. The AI photo booth also needed to feel like part of the event—not a kiosk placed in the corner with a theme added at the last minute.

Our approach was to treat the photography and booth as one visual system. The event photographer preserved the real story unfolding in the ballroom, while the AI activation allowed each participant to step inside a stylized version of that story.

A Custom Wicked-Inspired AI Photo Booth

The custom AI photo booth transformed guests into polished, cinematic characters inspired by the world and color palette of Oz. Depending on the selected look, participants appeared as elegant good witches, dramatic green-skinned witches, Emerald City royalty and uniformed fantasy characters against richly detailed environments.

This was not a basic filter placed over a snapshot. Each finished portrait was designed to feel like campaign artwork: expressive lighting, coordinated wardrobe, dimensional backgrounds and a consistent vertical composition suited to mobile sharing. The custom visual direction also echoed the event's scenic production, giving the activation a clear connection to what guests were seeing throughout the ballroom.

Across the event, the booth produced 383 finished AI portraits. The variety mattered. Solo guests could choose a dramatic character moment, while pairs could share a coordinated transformation. That made the activation personal enough to feel special while keeping the larger gallery visually connected.

For corporate planners, this is where a custom AI photo booth becomes more than entertainment. It extends the event concept into guest-created content. Instead of leaving with a standard photo, each participant receives something made specifically for that night—an image tied to the setting, the story and the recognition experience.

Coverage began with the environment itself: the ballroom at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, the sweeping scenic displays, themed décor, floral details, lighting and lounge areas that established the tone before guests entered. Wide photographs showed the scale and production value of the room, while tighter compositions preserved details that might otherwise disappear once the celebration was underway.

As the evening progressed, coverage shifted naturally toward the people and program. That included guest reactions, unscripted interactions, stage moments and the energy of honorees being celebrated together. The goal was not simply to create a chronological record. Working under theatrical stage lighting requires more than pointing a camera toward the performer. Color changes quickly. LED screens can overpower faces. Idina Menzel's performance was the defining live moment of the evening, and the photography needed to carry both its scale and its intimacy.

Our coverage included close, expressive performance portraits; wider frames showing the stage production; interactions with the audience; and moments when guests joined the energy onstage. The strongest images preserve more than the fact that a celebrated performer appeared.
